The Patch comes on April 14^th, but we will have to wait two more weeks for the ladder system. This feature will go live on April 28^th. The ladder system is Diablo 2's equivalent of ranked. This system records a character's performance. We say character and not player because, when the ladder resets, players need to make a new character that will be ranked on the new ladder. However, the old character is not lost. It becomes available for normal play and it retains all its items and upgrades. Needless to say, this character will be much more powerful than a newly-created one. It allows players to gain an edge over their competitors. Patch 2.4 also comes with class and mercenary changes. This is an important update. Diablo 2 Resurrected kept the classes as they were in 2010. The Amazon and Necromancer received some tweaks, but it's the Barbarian, Assassin, and Paladin that got some important updates. These three classes have received major changes for their combat abilities. The Druid and Sorceress get mana boosts. Rune Words received some attention as well. Bows and crossbows now work with Insight. Several new rune words have made their way into the game.
